Everyone and Everything Is You Pushed Out. Self Concept Explained.
“Everyone is you pushed out” – N.G.
This is my favorite quote from Neville and my take on it.
I used to think that every experience is a reflection of yourself and that what you see in others is in you. Let me tell you that this is not always the case, most times it is but not every time. And this specific quote goes around this idea only. Which I don’t find it complete.
I believe the meaning is deeper than that.
People will show up in your life according to what you think of them and not necessarily because what you see in them is reflected in your behavior or way of living life; but only because you formed an idea about who they might be.
And they will show up like that just for YOU.
Keep on reading.
That person that you described behaving in a certain way based on your impressions can act that way with YOU ONLY and very different to everybody else around.
To better understand this, look at your friendships. You might have a friend who always acts nice to you but not to everybody else. Or a colleague who is mean to you only and friendly to everybody else.
Also, look at your relationships, how does your partner show up for you? If the answer is not as you want, ask yourself what you think about them and compare it to their behavior.
And this applies also to situations in your life. What are your assumptions about what is going on around you?
These can be fake assumptions implemented by external info which doesn’t represent you.
For example, you never had a relationship before, but a friend told you that men will only use you, or women will only take advantage of you. You took it as truth and made it an assumption without thinking if this is a truth you want to carry through life.
Can you guess how your relationships will be having these assumptions? Exactly like you think.
You might not be a person who uses people, but because you think it about others, you’ll meet other men or women who will…use you.
And this is
YOU PUSHED OUT.
Your beliefs pushed out.
Your assumptions pushed out.
And in many situations without embodying that specific trait necessarily, but only with a poor concept about the other people you interact with is enough.
I would complete this quote with:
Everyone and everything is you pushed out!
You see, is not only about your self-concept but also about your concept of them.
This explains better my last post where I say:
Whatever you expect to happen is going to happen.
Do you find it difficult to spot those assumptions you have, that bring situations and people you don’t want? Or, you want to solve and transform them but have no idea how?
